“ROYAL RIDE WITH ROYAL ENFIELD AND I”

"MY FIRST 500KM WITH NEW ROYAL ENFIELD"

Well, as we all know, riding our own bull gives more pleasure than sitting back on the pillion seat. Excitement definitely inclines our nerves when we are a traveler/rider. I am a Nature/Fashion Photographer by profession and I travel mostly into the young Himalayan mountains riding the bike or fly overseas for my Photography tour to capture Landscapes, Birds and many other Nature’s beauty.

Soon I will be heading for my 1K-KM bike ride to Uttrakhand along with my team and other members who love exploring Nature, just like I do. This could be the last tour for 2015 and then will be Feb - Mar’2016 tour, riding in the snow and reaching the higher altitudes of Uttrakhand mountains.

1K KM
Now, coming back to my 1st 1K+ - KMs experience with my new RE Classic 350, I loved the comfort (as we all RE lovers do). The longest ride I went so far on my new bull, was 120KM in a day which was really pleasant and not so tiring even riding through some traffic joints in Mumbai.

About Mileage, well, it astonishingly gave me average of 38 KMPL before my 1st service i.e. crossing 500 km. After my 1st service, the bike gave me a little jerk as the Self-Start switch stopped working. I had to kick start the bike and at the traffic signal, my finger just touched the Self Start button by mistake and the bike engine stopped, again I had to kick start and Thank Goodness, there was no honking as the signal light was still Red (Pheewww!!! Embarrassing right?)
Everyone Do Get A Question In Their Mind, How Do I Be With My New Bike To Get Best Out Of It, As Expected?
Well, the answer is right with you. Treat your Bike just like your best friend. At times, your best friend (human) may say no but your bull ride best friend won’t say no to you ever (just don’t forget to feed fuel to it :-D )
As salesmen from RE may tell you that do not cross 40 KMPH during your 1st 500km/before 1st service. But, for me, I kept my speed to 40 KMPHl at lowest and 60 KMPH to the highest as guided in the Manual by RE. I kept my speed steady instead of raising the acceleration low and high to find the gaps in the highway/city roads as raising acceleration high/low will only make your bike engine to work even harder and in return you will lose the performance and fuel efficiency and worst will be, when other riders looking at you, riding Royal Enfield like sports bike rather than Cruiser (Foolish, right?)
Another part, as I wash my bike by myself instead of giving it out to my watchman or to the garage and so I can keep the tick on the tyre pressures and oils which again helps me to maintain my bike as new as I bought it.
I seldom say to my pal riders, “You take care of your bull and bull will take care of you” (Bull = Royal Enfield Bikes).

Anyway, I am loving my RE Bull and I am waiting to go for my long ride/Photography tour soon with my team and other members who are joining me to learn Nature Photography and to explore curvy roadways of Uttarakhand’s young mountains and for sure we want to reach right close to Himalayan Snow Mountains.
